UI Embarks Without Monroe

University of Idaho basketball center Chris Monroe’s suspension apparently has grown from two games to at least three.

Monroe, a sophomore who averages 10.2 points per game, didn’t accompany Idaho on its two-game road trip. Idaho faces Montana tonight and Montana State on Saturday.

Monroe was suspended prior to last Saturday’s Long Beach State game for violating athletic department policy. At the time, officials said Monroe would be suspended for two games.

Prep wrestling

Heavyweight Kyle Frost scored a first-round pin over Alex Mann to clinch the Bantams’ 39-27 non-league wrestling victory over their neighbor and rival Lewiston on Wednesday night.

Lewiston scored a decision by Jason Wicks at 189 pounds and got a pin from Joe Forsman at 215 pounds to rally, cutting the Clarkston advantage to 33-27, and would have earned a tie with a pin in the heavyweight match.
