Faye Kestell Spokane

Memorial service for Faye L. Kestell, 83, will be at 11 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Mrs. Kestell, who was born in Swanville, Minn., died Friday. She graduated from high school and nursing school in Minnesota.

In 1947 she married Edward Kestell.

She was a 55-year Spokane resident and was a registered nurse at Deaconess Medical Center and Garden Terrace Nursing Home for seven years. She was later was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Karen Allen of Spokane; a sister, Merle Hansen of Newport, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Harold `Duck’ Danzer Spokane

No service will be held for Harold G. “Duck” Danzer, 83, at his request. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 52-year Spokane resident, Mr. Danzer died Friday. He was born in White Sulphur Springs, Mont.

He graduated from Denton (Mont.) High School in 1938.

During World War II he served in the Navy.

In 1974 he married Jeanne Corbin.

Mr. Danzer worked as an engineer for Boge Bros. Bakery for 25 years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Danzer, a daughter, Dawn McGown, and a stepson, Kelly Corbin, all of Spokane; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Delbert Sells Spokane

Vigil service for Delbert F. Sells, 66, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Sells died Thursday. He was a lifetime Spokane resident.

He was a steel worker at Kaiser for many years.

Mr. Sells was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, United Steelworkers Union No. 338 and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Survivors include four sons, Charles, Michael and Mark Sells, all of Spokane, and Delbert Sells Jr. of Wenatchee; five daughters, Lulu Sells and Rose Degelman, both of Spokane, Elizabeth Thorpe of Liberty Lake, Jennifer Fujinaga of Bellevue, Wash., and Susan Rose of Visalia, Calif.; two brothers, Dick and Dan Sells, both of Spokane; four sisters, Betty Fife, Jaclyn Trantum, Janice Ludberg and Nikki Hansen, all of Spokane; 34 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Morning Star Boys’ Ranch.

Terry Enman Spokane

Service for Terry A. Enman, 38, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Enman died Thursday as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident Wednesday at the intersection of Eighth and Dishman-Mica Road. He was born in Missoula and raised in Spokane.

He was a Central Valley High School graduate.

Mr. Enman owned and operated Auto Wholesales.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa; a stepdaughter, Trista Willmann at home; his mother, Lillian Enman of Spokane; his father, Austin Enman of Spokane; a brother, Robert Rudd of Spokane; and a sister, Sherry Lynn Kimmel of Phoenix.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Christ Lutheran Church.

Juanita Cesaratto Veradale

Rosary service for Juanita M. Cesaratto will be at 8:15 a.m. today at St. Paschal Roman Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 9 a.m. and a luncheon will be held at the rectory hall at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cesaratto, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Thursday. She was 80.

She was a graduate of Marycliff Academy for Girls.

Mrs. Cesaratto worked at Edgecliff Sanitarium as a nurse’s aide for several years before becoming a housekeeper and cook at the St. John Vianney Rectory, where she worked for 13 years.

She was past president of St. John Vianney Altar Society and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.

Her husband of 59 years, Eugene, died in 1996.

Survivors include three daughters, Jean Marie Pelland and Francie Dopkins, both of Spokane, and Christina Cesaratto-Kirlin of Rathdrum, Idaho; a son, Jerry Cersaratto of Nine Mile Falls; three sisters, Lucille Harris and Maryann Adams, both of Spokane, and Betty Lumpkin of Sheep Ranch, Calif.; two brothers, Glen and Lyle Feaster, both of Spokane; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Larry Holloway Mesa, Ariz.

Memorial service for Larry J. Holloway, 61, was Wednesday at the Viewpoint in Mesa.

Born in Spokane, Mr. Holloway died Dec. 9.

He graduated in 1957 from North Central High School.

During the 1950s and 1960s he served in the Army National Guard.

Mr. Holloway worked in the water and hydroelectric services department for the city of Spokane for 31 years. He retired as taps and meters supervisor in 1989.

He and his wife, Julie, moved to Mesa in 1990. They continued to spend the summer months in Spokane.

Mr. Holloway was a member of the American Water Works Association. During the mid 1980s he served as president of the North East Spokane Kiwanis Club and was lieutenant governor of the Kiwanis Northwest Section.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years; a daughter, Beth Holloway of Santa Maria, Calif.; his mother, Dorothy Holloway of Spokane; three sisters, Patricia Crone and Vicki Pohlman, both of Spokane, and Elva Ferguson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a brother, Ted Holloway of Spokane; and two grandsons.

Marvin Taitch Spokane

Graveside service for Marvin K. Taitch, 82, was Monday at Mount Nebo Cemetery.

Mr. Taitch, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Friday.

He graduated from North Central High School and attended Eastern Washington State College.

Mr. Taitch served in the Army Air Corps and later the Air Force. He served during World War II and was a decorated B-24 pilot in the 403rd Bomb Group in the South Pacific. He retired as a lieutenant colonel after flying more than 400 hours in combat.

He was the founder of Standard Iron and Metal Co. and operated the company for 50 years. Mr. Taitch was a member of the Washington Thoroughbred Breeders Association, the American Society of Metals, Temple Beth Shalom and was a past president of B’nai Brith.

His wife of 50 years, Glenna, died in 1993.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Taitch of Spokane, Gary Taitch of Liberty Lake and Ron Taitch of Boston; a daughter, Marlene Taitch of Seattle; two brothers, Eudell Taitch of Spokane and Jack Taitch of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Rosella of Fort Collins, Colo.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ervin `Ernie’ Radmall Liberty Lake

Service for Ervin G. “Ernie” Radmall, 73, will be at 2 p.m. todayat Otis Orchards Community Church. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Pleasant Grove, Utah, Mr. Radmall died Thursday.

He graduated from high school in Pleasant Grove and served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He was a 29-year Spokane resident. Mr. Radmall worked for the federal government as an electronic technician for many years. He also tuned pianos and repaired organs for more than 20 years in Spokane.

He was a member of Otis Orchards Community Church and the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Lola; three sons, Eric Lans of Everett, David Radmall of Las Vegas and Jim Radmall of Sacramento, Calif.; three daughters, Rebecca Burgess of Spokane, Velda Downey of Portland and Colleen Peters of Las Vegas; a sister, Letha Barbour of Phoenix; and 14 grandchildren.

Ronald Matteson Spokane

Graveside service for Ronald O. Matteson, 79, will be at 2 p.m. today at Pines Cemetery. A memorial service is planned for 4:30 p.m. today at Berean Bible Church. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Matteson, who was born in Westport, S.D., and raised in Anacortes, Wash., died Thursday. He was a 37-year Spokane resident.

In 1942 he joined the Navy and served on the USS Burns. He married Dorothy Dare in 1943.

Mr. Matteson worked for J.C. Penney Co. for 20 years and had managed the St. Maries store for six years before moving to Spokane where he opened and managed the University City J.C. Penney Store. In 1967 he and his wife purchased Weiler’s Flowers and renamed it Riverpark Flowers and Gifts.

In St. Maries He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of Toastmasters Club, the Elks and Eagles lodges and the chamber of commerce. In Spokane he was a member of the Spokane Flower Grower’s Association, served as the general chairman of the Northwest Florist Association Convention, and was a lifetime member and past president and board member of Allied Florist.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ray and Craig Matteson, both of Spokane; two daughters, Patti Libby of Las Vegas and Peggy Lanter of Texas; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Ruth Johnson Sagle, Idaho

Service for Ruth Johnson, 82, will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will be at Hunt Cemetery in Kingston, Idaho.

Mrs. Johnson, who was born in Ekalaka, Mont., died Sunday.

She married Obin Johnson in 1936. They moved to Kellogg in 1942 from Ekalaka. Her husband died in 1981.

She lived in the Silver Valley and was a homemaker until moving to Arizona in 1983. She moved into a personal care home in Sagle in 1998.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of United Community Methodist Church in Coeur d’Alene and was active with church circles, the United Methodist Women, and also crocheted and donated afghans to be given away by her church group.

Survivors include a son, Clyde Johnson of Maryland; two daughters, Jo Ellen Sharp of Kellogg and Mary Lou Pleas of Sandpoint; two brothers, Gail Martin of Elk, Wash., and Lyle Martin of Coeur d’Alene; a sister, Ann White of Denver; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
