Boyd Marshall Coeur d’Alene
No service will be held for Boyd E. Marshall, 87, at his request. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Idaho Falls, Mr. Marshall died Sunday.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Marshall moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1953 and was a city bus driver.
He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of more than 30 years, Idella; two sisters, Elsie Hatch of Post Falls and Beryl Jones of Colorado.
Mary (Patterson) Judd Spokane
Service for Mary G. (Patterson) Judd, 95, will be at 1 p.m. today at Cheney Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Born in St. John, Wash., Mrs. Judd died Tuesday.
She graduated in 1924 from St. John High School, in 1926 from Cheney Normal School and in 1957 from Eastern Washington College of Education.
In 1928 she married Glen Judd.
Mrs. Judd taught in several communities in Washington, including Cottonwood, Kamiack, Boyde and Marshall. She also taught at Lakeland Village in Medical Lake and at the Cheney Day Care.
She lived in St. John for 37 years until moving to Cheney where she lived for 58 years. She recently moved to Armstrong’s Adult Family Home in Spokane.
Mrs. Judd was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority and the Teacher’s Honorary Sorority.
Her husband died in 1986.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Nelson of Spokane, Jean Wagner of St. John and Lois Williams of Othello, Wash.; a sister, Lilie Harwood of St. Maries; a brother, Howard Patterson of St. John; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Walter Heimbigner Ritzville, Wash.
Visitation for Walter R. Heimbigner, 84, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville. Service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Congregational Church in Ritzville. Burial will follow at the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery.
A lifetime Adams County resident, Mr. Heimbigner died Wednesday. He was born in Marcellus, Wash.
He graduated from Odessa (Wash.) High School in 1933.
Mr. Heimbigner worked for Boeing until he entered the Army in 1942. He served until 1945.
In 1946 he began working for Centennial Flour Mill in Ritzville.
He married Dorothy Schragg in 1948.
Mr. Heimbigner went to work for the Marcellus Grange Supply in 1949 delivering gas, diesel and stove oil. He retired in 1985.
He was a member of Zion Congregational Church, the Ritzville American Legion and the Ritzville Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a charter member of the Odessa Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randall Heimbigner of Ritzville and Steven Heimbigner of Prescott, Wash.; a daughter, Barbara Heimbigner of Spokane; three brothers, Martin Heimbigner of Spokane, Eldon Heimbigner of Ephrata, Wash., and Richard Heimbigner of Helena, Mont.; and a granddaughter.

Ruth (Dick) Merrill Spokane
Private memorial service for Ruth M. (Dick) Merrill, 76, will be held at a later date. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
A 50-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Merrill died Dec. 21.
She was born in Everett and raised in Cusick, Wash. She graduated from Cusick High School.
Mrs. Merrill worked as an administrative secretary for School District 81 for 21 years.
Survivors include a son, Michael of Kailua, Hawaii; four daughters, Mollie of Spokane, Joann of Tacoma, Wash., Jayne of Canby, Ore., and Janet of Greeley, Colo.; a brother, Robert of Lakewood, Colo.; and five grandchildren.

Frances (Bolton) Webb Roeseler Kellogg
Memorial service for Frances Anette (Bolton) Webb Roeseler, 90, will be at 2 p.m. today at Shoshone Funeral Chapel in Kellogg. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.
Born in Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Roeseler died Tuesday.
She married Vernon Wood Webb in 1935. He died in 1978.
During World War II she worked in Seattle at Todd Shipyard. After the war she worked at King Fish Cannery in Seattle. She retired in 1965.
In 1984 she married Harold Roeseler. He died in 1987.
Mrs. Roeseler was a member of the Lady Trainmen, Pythian Sisters, Ladies Eagles Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, the Moose Lodge, Rebekah Lodge and Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Temple of Coeur d’Alene; six stepdaughters, Connie, Maria, Martha, Julie, Emily and Sharon; seven stepsons, Norman, Paul, George, Walter, John, James and Gary; 47 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Kermit Owens Spokane
Vigil service for Kermit P. Owens, 81, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Service is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
A 60-year Spokane resident, Mr. Owens died Monday. He was born in Cle Elum, Wash.
During World War II he served in the Army and was stationed in Japan. He served in the Counter Intelligence Corps.
In 1948 he received a law degree from Gonzaga University. Mr. Owens was a lawyer in private practice and retired in 1994.
He was a member of Assumption Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Eunice; two sons, John and Stephen Owens, both of Spokane; three daughters, Dorella Johnson of Seattle, Eileen Owens of Kirkland, Wash., and Nancy Fallgren of Bellevue, Wash.; a brother, Patrick Owens of Coeur d’Alene; three sisters, Dorothy Bosone of Seattle, Vivian Hunter of Lynnwood, Wash., and Nell Pearce of Portland; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Douglas Robertson Spokane
Service for Douglas Robertson, 76, was Thursday in the chapel at Sunset Mausoleum at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Robertson, who was born in Orange, Calif., died Tuesday.
He graduated from Orange High School and Long Beach (Calif.) State University.
During World War II he served in the Navy.
Mr. Robertson worked for the Santa Ana (Calif.) Fire Department. He retired as a chief.
He and his wife, Carmel, moved to Spokane 23 years ago.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cookie Robertson of Spokane; a son, Rob Robertson of Santa Ana; two brothers, Eugene Robertson of Baker City, Ore., and Joe Mater of Annabella, Utah; and a sister, Imogene Doyle of Houston.
Tony Tecca Kent, Wash.
No service will be held for Tony N. Tecca, 55, at his request. A memorial gathering will be held today at the home of Mischele and Dale Mininger in Buckley, Wash. Weeks’ Whitmore Funeral Home in Buckley, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tecca, who was born in Deer Lodge, Mont., died Monday.
In 1963 he began working for Northern Pacific Railroad in Auburn, Wash.
He married Linda Hetheringdon in Auburn, in 1964.
He later was transferred to Montana and in 1987 to Spokane. He retired as a general foreman for the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad in 1998.
He and his wife, Linda, moved to Kent in 1998.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years; two daughters, Mischele Mininger and Karen Eichenlaub, both of Buckley; a son, Jeff Tecca of Spokane; four sisters, Georgia Hoirup of Spokane, Shirley Cooper and Patsy Teigen, both of Seattle, and Phyllis Weber of Helena; four brothers, Dick Tecca of Federal Way, Wash., Tom Tecca of San Bernadino, Calif., Dave Tecca of Puyallup, Wash., and Robert Tecca of Kent; and five grandchildren.

Phyllis Fraser Hayden, Idaho
No service will be held for Phyllis J. Fraser, 71, at her request. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Fraser, who died Sunday, was born in Middletown, Ohio.
She moved to Idaho in 1976 from Anchorage, Alaska.
Mrs. Fraser owned and operated a residential care home in Hayden.
Survivors include a son, Daniel Lyons of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Kellene Morris and Diana Adams, both of Hayden; a sister, Beverly McKibben of Yelm, Wash.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Ethel (Wattne) Cochran Pullman
Memorial service for Ethel E. (Wattne) Cochran, 92, is planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pullman. Private graveside service will be at Pullman City Cemetery. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cochran, who was born in Duluth, Minn., died Monday.
In 1929 she married H. Bernard Helseth. They divorced in 1944.
She married James Cochran in 1948.
Mrs. Cochran was a head breakfast cook in the Regents dining hall at Washington State University. She retired in 1973.
She was a member of the Moscow (Idaho) Women of the Moose.
Her husband died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, James Cochran of Pullman; four daughters, Susan Clark of Palouse, Wash., Linda Cutler of Ritzville, Wash., Patsy Sperry of Colton, Wash., and Margaret Munden of Sun City, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

John Hartz Sr. Spokane
Service for John J. Hartz Sr., 83, was Tuesday at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Hartz died Dec. 15.
He worked as a driver for Western Union.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph and John Hartz; a daughter, Sharyl Hartz; two sisters, Minnie Hink and Rose Poutre; a brother, Al Hartz; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Catherine (Sarver) Liddell Seven Bays, Wash.
No service will be held for Catherine (Sarver) Liddell, 73, at her request. Private inurnment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A former Spokane resident, Mrs. Liddell died Monday. She was born in Lincoln, Ill.
Her family moved to Spokane when she was 16. She graduated from Rogers High School.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Liddell and her husband Robert moved to Seven Bays nine years ago.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years; a son, Jeff Liddell of Spokane; three daughters, Debbie Guffin of Leavenworth, Wash., Sandra McNeese of Hermiston, Ore., and Patsy Maropolos of Simi Valley, Calif.; a sister, Joyce LaPlante of Spokane; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Gladys Poole Spokane
No service will be held for Gladys T. Poole, 97, at her request. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Lisbon, N.D., Mrs. Poole died Saturday.
She graduated in 1926 from Carlton College in Northfield, Minn. She received a degree in mathematics and chemistry.
In 1927 she married Edwin Poole.
Mrs. Poole taught in Hettinger, N.D., until moving to Spokane in 1936.
During World War II she worked as a chemist for Alcoa Aluminum in Trentwood.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Spokane Genealogical Society and the Spokane Movie Club.
Her husband died in 1975.
Survivors include a daughter, Carmen Farley of Spokane; and two grandchildren.
Allen Beamis Post Falls
Funeral service for Allen Scott Beamis, 37, will be at 1 p.m. today at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Beamis, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Christmas Day.
When he was 10 his family moved to Lewiston. He returned to Coeur d’Alene four years ago.
He did landscaping and electrical work.
Survivors include his mother, Arvella Zins of Post Falls; two brothers, Timothy and Andy Beamis, both of Post Falls; and his grandmothers, Aliene Sherrard of Post Falls and Ava Miller of Hayden Lake, Idaho.
Betty Sams Spokane
Memorial service for Betty L. Sams, 75, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Zion Christian Center. Private graveside service will be held at the Dartford (Wash.) Cemetery. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sams, who died Saturday, was born in Cottage Grove, Ore.
She graduated in 1943 from Cottage Grove High School.
During World War II she distributed rationing stamps. In the late 1940s she married Orley Hunter. They later divorced.
Mrs. Sams graduated from modeling school in the Portland area in the 1950s. She owned and operated Hunter Modeling and Finishing in the Portland area for 10 years. She also was a coordinator and trainer for state pageant contestants from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii.
In 1965 she married Paul Sams.
From the late 1960s to the early 1970s she owned and operated Apartment Rental Services in the Seattle area. In the 1980s she worked as a talent agent for the Lola Holawell Talent Agency in Seattle.
She and her husband moved to Spokane in 1990. Mrs. Sams owned and operated the Betty L. Sams Talent and Modeling Agency in Spokane. From 1994 to 1998 she worked for the Spokane Housing Authority. In 1998 she went to work as a receptionist for the American Christian Network.
She was a member of Zion Christian Center. She also worked on the production of “Joe and Mary” for the church.
Her husband died in 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Brad Hunter of Spokane, Kevin Hunter of Pullman and Newel Hunter of Rock Creek, Mont.; a stepdaughter, Paula Christy of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Georgie Bigelow of Oregon; and 10 grandchildren.

Dennis Huffman Spokane
Memorial service for Dennis Joseph Huffman, 43, will be at 2 p.m. today at Fourth Memorial Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Huffman, who was born in Roseburg, Ore., died Saturday.
He moved to Spokane in 1981 and worked for Deaconess and Eastern State hospitals.
Survivors include three children, Heidi, Trina and Joseph, all of Tacoma; his parents, Denny and Diana Huffman of Spokane; four sisters, Penny Young of Spokane, Peggy Tedlund of University Place, Wash., Pam Malsom of Odenton, Md., and Jennifer Willis of Sodus, N.Y.; and his grandmother, June Holt of Silverton, Ore.
