Idaho World Marks

Idaho is expanding its recognition in the world of record fish.
Bill Horton, Idaho Fish and Game Department fishing records keeper in Boise, recently discovered three Idaho state records that qualify for world-record status.
“That will give Idaho a total of six world-record listings when the new Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame world record book comes out,” Horton said.
The three new listings will include:
Tench, 4 pounds 14 ounces, caught this year in the Spokane River above Post Falls Dam by Scotty Bruener of Hayden Lake.
Large-scale sucker, 6 pounds 3.8 ounces, caught in 1999 in Cascade Reservoir.
Utah sucker, 7 pounds 11 ounces, caught in 1999 in Portneuf River.
The three previously recognized world records from Idaho are:
Kamloops, 37 pounds, caught in 1947 in Lake Pend Oreille by Wes Hamlet.
Bull trout, 32 pounds, caught in 1949 in Lake Pend Oreille by Nelson Higgins.
Mountain whitefish, 5.14 ounces, caught in 1997 in Island Park Reservoir.
