Michael W. Caldwell Commended For Work With Hurricane Victims

Several Inland Northwest residents have received military recognition in recent months.

Air Force Master Sgt. Michael W. Caldwell received the Arkansas Commendation Medal for his work for the victims of Hurricane Mitch in Honduras, delivering 24,000 pounds of lifesaving food, water and medical supplies. He volunteered for the temporary duty assignment.

Caldwell is the son of Eva Roberts, Spokane, and Robert Caldwell, Cheney. He graduated in 1968 from North Central High School and in 1980 from Eastern Washington University.

Timothy Ridnour, an Air National Guard airman, graduated from basic military training in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Jerry and Barbara Ridnour, Cheney, and a 1999 graduate of Cheney High School.

Army Spec. Charlena K. Martin has received an Army Achievement Medal for meritorious service or achievement.

She is a supply clerk assigned to the 175th Finance Command at Yongson Garrison, Seoul, South Korea.

Martin, a 1996 graduate of Medical Lake High School, is the daughter of Pamela and Douglas Martin, Medical Lake.

Air Force Airman Jim S. Bledsoe graduated from basic military training in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Denise and Jim Bledsoe, Newman Lake, and a June graduate of East Valley High School.

Kimberly A. Domonouski, an Air National Guard airman 1st class, graduated from basic military training in San Antonio, Texas.

Her father and stepmother are Eric and JoEllen Epperson, Spokane. Her mother and stepfather are Bobbie and Mark Smith, Spokane.

Domonouski graduated in 1998 from Ferris High School.

Navy Chief Petty Officer Sandra D. Haats received her second Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and retired from active duty after 20 years of service, most recently assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, whose home port is Bremerton.

Haats was recognized for her performance as intermediate administrative superintendent of aircraft.

She is the daughter of Edwin and Darlene Haats, Spokane, and a 1979 graduate of Rogers High School.
