Eagles Set For Showdowns

Border League

West Valley needs to take two more big steps to reach the Border League boys championship.

Luke Gordon hit three 3-pointers in the first half and John Focht added 10 rebounds as the No. 4-ranked Eagles notched a 63-54 win at Clarkston.

Standing in WV’s way are two league games, at home tonight against fourth-place Colville and on the road Tuesday against second-place Cheney.

Gordon added four steals and four rebounds.

Shaylia Davis and Brittany Douglas combined for 14 first-quarter points in the Region I A-1 tournament and the Vikings defeated the visiting Bears to move one game away from a return trip to the state tournament.

Moscow plays Post Falls in a loser-out game tonight. The winner must defeat CdA twice next week to bar the Vikings from the state tournament. CdA has won 20 consecutive games.
