Kelicia Shorts made sure that second-ranked Lakeside had a long night.
Shorts hit four crucial free throws Friday night and Riverside defeated visiting Lakeside 40-38 in overtime to snap the Eagles’ 11-game winning streak.
Riverside led the Great Northern League game 38-36 after Shorts made two free throws late in regulation. Lakeside’s Kati Tikker forced OT with a final basket.
Shorts’ two free throws were the only points in OT.
