Freeman started the season 0-2 but has been unstoppable since Dec. 7.

Tanner Townsend totaled 21 points and six steals Saturday night, and the hot-shooting Scotties wrapped up their perfect Northeast A League season with a 79-57 win over visiting Colfax.

Fifth-ranked Freeman, winner of 18 straight, opens the District 7 1A tournament on Friday against No. 4-seeded Kettle Falls. Colfax, No. 3 seed, opens vs. No. 2 Liberty in the tourney at Mead High.

Lance Pecht scored 24, hitting 4 of 8 3-pointers, and John Focht added 14 rebounds as the Eagles defeated the visiting Indians to clinch a tie for the league title.

The Eagles play at Cheney on Tuesday, when they will try to claim the title outright.
