Christopher M. Jones Completes Military Course
Several Inland Northwest individuals have recently received recognition in the military.
Christopher M. Jones graduated from the warrant officer candidate course in Daleville, Ala., and was appointed to the rank of warrant officer one.
Jones, the son of Richard and Carol Jones, Spokane, is a 1996 graduate of Freeman High School and a 1999 graduate of Spokane Community College.
Air Force Airman Mindy V. Olsen graduated from basic military training in San Antonio.
Olsen is the daughter of Lorraine Clark, Colbert, and Thomas Olsen, Otis Orchards. She is a 1999 graduate of Mt. Spokane High School.
Army Private Crystal L. Schmidt graduated from basic military training in Waynesville, Mo.
Schmidt is the granddaughter of June and Donald Schmidt, Deer Park, and a 1999 graduate of Shadle Park High School.
Air Force Airman Bo J. Holt graduated from basic military training in San Antonio.
Holt, a 1999 graduate of Cheney High School, is the son of Don Holt, Spokane, and Jeanie Holt, Woodland, Calif.
Casey S. Clarkson graduated from the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in Tennessee and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air National Guard. He is stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base.
He is the son of Gary and Tanaquil Clarkson, Spokane, and is a 1992 graduate of North Central High School and a 1997 graduate of Eastern Washington University.
Air Force Airman Richard E. Scott Jr. graduated from basic military training in San Antonio. Scott, the son of Richard and Thelma Scott, Airway Heights, is a 1999 graduate of Cheney High School.
Douglas J. Blancher has been promoted to the rank of technical sergeant in the Air Force and is assigned at Fairchild Air Force Base.
Blancher, the son of Lorene Blancher, Spokane, is a graduate of Rogers High School.
Marine Corps Cpl. Jared L. Lawson graduated from the Ranger training course at the Army Ranger School in Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
Lawson is a scout specialist assigned to Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif. He is the son of Kenny Lawson, Spokane, and is a 1996 graduate of Ferris High School.
Army Reserve Pvt. Clayton J. Purvis has graduated from basic military training in Waynesville, Mo., under the split-option program which allows high school students to attend a six-week Army National Guard or Reserve during the summer of their junior year.
Purvis, the son of Rhonda Horobiowski, Spokane, is a student at North Central High School.
