Verleena Froelich Spokane
Service for Verleena Lavone Froelich, 76, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Born in Pomeroy, Wash., Mrs. Froelich died last Tuesday.
Her family moved to Spokane when she was an infant.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Alfred Froelich Sr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Walter Froelich of Spokane, Alfred Froelich of Portland, Tim Froelich of Rapid City, S.D., and Donald Froelich of Cullman, Ala.; a brother, Donald Stradley of Portland; 20 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Leonard `Skip’ Robinson St. Maries
Service for Leonard B. “Skip” Robinson will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in St. Maries. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Robinson, who was born in St. Maries, died Friday. He was 80.
He grew up in St. Maries and then served with the Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He returned to the area after his military service.
In 1947 he married Polly Brown. They lived in St. Maries where he co-owned Robinson Bros. Logging Co.
He worked in the timber industry before retiring in 1980.
Mr. Robinson was a longtime member of the St. Maries Elks Lodge, the National Rifle Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His wife died in 1990.
Survivors include two sons, Ron and Jim Robinson, both of St. Maries; two daughters, Judy Miller of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Linda Hartsox of University Place, Wash.; a brother, Aaron Robinson of St. Maries; a half-brother, Harry Robinson of Salem, Ore.; and five grandchildren.

Wallace Murphy Spokane
Memorial service for Wallace Ivan Murphy, 85, will be at 3 p.m. March 18 at Centenary United Methodist Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Murphy, who died Thursday, was born in Hayfield, Minn., and grew up in Bemidji, Minn.
In 1940 he married Margaret Aldrich and they moved to Spokane in 1950.
Mr. Murphy graduated from Kinman Business College in 1953. He was plant manager for Carnation Dairies from 1953 to 1984.
Mr. Murphy was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and the Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Darrell and Chan Murphy, both of Spokane, and Terence Murphy of Freemantle, Australia; a daughter, Katy Williamson of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Murphy of Columbia Falls, Mont., and Merton Murphy of Lebanon, Pa.; three sisters, Arlene Petani of Spokane, Florence Aldrich of Salem, Ore., and Edrie Weis of Bemidji; and four grandchildren.

Jerry Bailey St. Maries
Service for Jerry Lee Bailey, 52, was Monday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in St. Maries. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bailey died Wednesday from injuries suffered in a logging accident in Eagle Nest, N.M.
He was born in St. Maries and graduated in 1966 from St. Maries High School. He married Maryann Thorhaug in 1968 and they lived in the St. Maries area.
Mr. Bailey worked in the timber industry all his life and most recently was employed by Lee St. John Logging Co.
He built and raced his own car at Spokane Raceway Park and was a member of the St. Joe Valley Car Club, the St. Maries Eagles Lodge and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Anne Bailey of St. Maries; four brothers, Bruce Bailey of Dundee, Ore., Steve Bailey of St. Maries, Phillip Bailey of Minneapolis and Lavern Bailey of Orofino, Idaho; and two sisters, Donna Brown and Dorla Spicer, both of St. Maries.

Alyce Beaman Spokane
Service for Alyce Maxfield Beaman, 85, will be at 2 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A 55-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Beaman died Sunday. She was born in Cottage Grove, Minn.
She graduated from St. Paul Park High School in Minnesota.
Mrs. Beaman received a licensed practical nursing degree from Spokane Community College. She worked at Deaconess and Holy Family hospitals and as a private duty nurse. She retired in 1980.
Her first husband, James Maxfield Sr., died in 1970.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Lee; three daughters, JoAnne Warnock and Mary Maxfield, both of Spokane, and Ethel Wigen of Kent, Wash.; two stepsons, Larry Beaman of Vancouver, Wash., and Clifford Beaman of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Joyce Himes of Vancouver and Kathy Beaman of Seattle; a brother, Bill Blaksley of Woodbury, Minn.; 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Marion Wilkinson Spokane
Service for Marion H. Wilkinson, 79, will be at 1 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial park.
Born in Montgomery, Ala., Mr. Wilkinson died Thursday.
Mr. Wilkinson served in the Navy during World War II. He later served as a crew chief in the Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired in 1971.
He lived in Spokane for 35 years and was a member of Sunset Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Margaret; a son, James Wilkinson, and two daughters, Marian Eldred and Teresa Wright, all of Spokane; two sisters, Mildred Campbell of Crestview, Fla., and Minnie Strother of Camden, Ala.; three grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
Lavelle (Burnett) Washburn Spokane
Memorial service for C. Lavelle (Burnett) Washburn, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 26 at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Pullman, Mrs. Washburn died Feb. 4.
She was raised in Montana and graduated from Conrad (Mont.) High School in 1935.
In 1937 she married Charles Dixon. They divorced in 1944.
She married Robert Washburn in 1944. They moved to Kennewick and to Sweet Home, Ore., before settling in Spokane in 1952.
Mrs. Washburn worked at Geiger Field and later worked at Fairchild Air Force Base during the missile installation from 1959 to 1963. She also was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Gerald Washburn of Spokane; and a granddaughter.

Martha Eklund Spokane
Service for Martha Louise Eklund, 73, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A 47-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Eklund died Thursday. She was born in Lake Landing, N.C.
She was a bookkeeper for Layrite Products, Weisfield’s Jewelers and the Diana Shops.
Her husband, Elmer, died in 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Jim and Michael Repp, both of Newman Lake; a daughter, Karen Peak of Mead; a stepson, Darrel Eklund, and a stepdaughter, Donna Ashley, both of Spokane; and six grandchildren.
Chester Pagnotta Priest River, Idaho
Rosary for Chester Marion Pagnotta, 80, will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church in Priest River. Memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Priest River resident, Mr. Pagnotta died Wednesday.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Pagnotta was a logger in the Priest River area.
He was a member of the Newport Eagles Lodge.
His wife, Iris, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Gary Pagnotta of Billings, Mont.; two daughters, Loretta VanTroba of Spokane and Linda Scott of Noxon, Mont.; three sisters, Florine Long, Evelyn Bombino and Val Bongiorne, all of Spokane; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Gloria Cheek Hayden, Idaho
Service for Gloria Ann Cheek, 60, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. Burial will be at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Cheek, who was born in Quebec, died Thursday.
She grew up and graduated from high school in Verdun, Quebec, and in 1959 married Dennis Cheek. They lived in Montreal.
In 1961 they moved to Chula Vista, Calif., and she worked as a medical transcriber in San Diego.
They moved to Hayden in 1977 from the San Fernando Valley.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Brian Cheek of Vancouver, Wash., and D.J. Cheek of New Orleans; three daughters, Dawn Davidson of Hayden, Joy Drake of Pullman and Kelly Wilch of California; her parents, Leonard and Mildred Stewart of California; a brother, Lenny Stewart of California; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Dolores Archibald Spokane
Memorial service for Dolores J. Archibald, 71, was Saturday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Archibald died last Tuesday.
She was an engineering supervisor in the communications industry.
Mrs. Archibald was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, was a member of the Children’s Home Society of Washington and the Telephone Pioneers of America, of which she had served as president.
Her husband, Edwin, died in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Larry Archibald of Phoenix; a daughter, Laurie Huck of Spokane; two brothers, Allen Ambrose of Glendale, Ariz., and Bill Ambrose of Phoenix; a sister, Eleanore Marsh of Portsmouth, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

P. Jay Guttierrez Spokane
Memorial service for P. Jay Guttierrez, 45, was Saturday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Pines Cemetery.
Born in Spokane, Miss Guttierrez died Feb. 5.
She graduated from West Valley High School and from Evergreen State College in Olympia.
Miss Guttierrez was a theatrical artist in the Seattle area.
She returned to Spokane six years ago.
Survivors include her father, Paul Guttierrez; her mother and stepfather, Joann and Wayne Lynch of Coeur d’Alene; and four sisters, Cathy Mills, Debi Schmadeka, Dani Guttierrez and Tina Byrd, and a brother, Don Lynch, all of Spokane.
