Public Hearing Tonight On Sewage Lagoon
A sewage lagoon for a proposed subdivision in the Sunnyside/Oden Bay area of Bonner County is the subject of a public hearing tonight.
Partners Jeff Pfaeffle and Paul Trunell are proposing a 2 million-gallon sewage lagoon to serve a proposed 14-lot waterfront subdivision. The lagoon would be large enough to allow other hookups in the neighborhood.
In the summer months, the effluent would be sprayed over 5-1/2 acres next to the proposed lagoon.
The developers are proposing a community sewage system because the high water table and seasonal water in the neighborhood prevents the use of septic tanks.
The lagoon was approved last summer by the Bonner County Planning and Zoning Commission, but a neighborhood group, Oden Citizens for Appropriate Land Use, appealed the decision.
The public hearing before the Bonner County Commissioners begins at 6 p.m. in the Bonner County Courthouse.
