Christian Author Will Lead Conference
Christian author and radio host Mary Welchel will lead a two-day conference next weekend at New Life Community Church.
Welchel, a former IBM executive, is a nationally known expert on workplace ethics for women. But after 25 years in the corporate world and breaking the “glass ceiling” at IBM, Welchel said she still felt unfulfilled.
She began a second career as a consultant, author and radio talk show host. After establishing “The Christian Working Woman” program in 1984 on a Chicago radio station, her show has since spread to more than 500 stations internationally. Welchel is heard in Spokane and North Idaho on KMBI, 107.9 FM.
Welchel will speak March 2-3 at New Life Community Church, 6100 W. Hayden Avenue. The theme of the two-day conference - open to women and men - is “The Freedom of Spiritual Discipline and Prayer.” The Friday session runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and costs $5. The Saturday session runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs $15, including a gourmet boxed lunch, or $10 without a lunch.
Child-care is provided, but preregistration of children is required by March 2. Otherwise, registration is not required.
