Museum Receives Grant For New Trunk Program

Foundation Northwest has awarded a $9,058 grant to the Cheney Cowles Museum for its Educational Trunk Program that’s being developed.

The program is to deliver interactive Spokane history and American Indian artifacts and information to schools, youth and family organizations and native Americans within a 50-mile radius of Spokane.

The trunk program, also funded by Wells Fargo Bank and the Pierce Trust, will be an on-going educational outreach program for the museum.

Museum officials anticipate reaching 6,000 students during its first year, which begins in October.
