Alpine skiing/snowboarding
Mt. Spokane picked up more than 14 inches of snow earlier this week as it gets set to begin its annual Learn to Ski and Snowboard programs (ages 7-17), beginning Saturday.
The second Corporate Cup series begins Wednesday and runs four straight Wednesday nights. With 17 teams entered, there’s still room for three more teams.

Friday night skiing at Silver Mountain begins tonight from 3-8 p.m. Skiers and boarders who buy Friday day tickets may use their passes at night.
49 Degrees North is hosting Mountain Gear Teledaze on Saturday. There will be telemark demonstrations 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Telemark racing registration will be 8:30-10 a.m at the lodge. Racing starts at 11 a.m. The event is open to skiers of all abilities. The price is $35 which includes lift tickets.
Nordic skiing
Stretch out with Jacqui O’Neill at Schweitzer Mountain before hitting the cross country trails. Beginning Saturday, and running every Saturday and Sunday, O’Neill will conduct a stretching class at 7:30 a.m. in the Lake View Lodge. The class will last 30 minutes and will help skiers and skaters get ready for Vista Point. The price is $8 and includes a cross country trail pass.
The cross country ski festival at Mt. Spokane cross country ski trails is Sunday 10 a.m.3 p.m. The event includes equipment demonstrations, introductory lessons and a poker ski contest at 2:30 p.m. Registration for the ski race is at 7:30 a.m. Race starts at 9 a.m.
