Cda Council May Seek Grant For Docks
The Coeur d’Alene City Council will consider seeking a state grant to replace the boat launches at the Third Street boat dock.
The same proposal would also seek $10,000 from the Coeur d’Alene Urban Renewal Agency, which has announced plans to eventually close the launches as part of a downtown revitalization effort.
City Councilman Chris Copstead said the docks have been in use about twice as long as most docks and need to be replaced.
“They are designed so that they could be used either as launch docks or moorage,” he said. “They can be utilized even if the launches close. No matter which direction we go, we need them badly.”
The council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.
