Inmate Sentenced For False Tax Returns

From Staff Reports

An inmate who admitted filing false income tax returns was sentenced to two years in federal prison following his state incarceration.

The Justice Department also reports that Kurtis L. Davis, 25, was sentenced Wednesday to three years’ supervised release following his federal prison term and ordered to repay the government $5,619. Davis is serving time at the Idaho State Correctional Institution in Boise.

Davis, along with inmate Joseph Waddle, admitted using other people’s names - including those of other inmates - on the fake returns. They also admitted filing falsified W-2 forms and claiming refunds to which they were not entitled.

Waddle is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 31.
