Gonzales Does Damage As Hornets Sting Eagles
Pablo Gonzales scored 16 points in the second half Thursday night and finished with 23 as Sacramento State held off Eastern Washington 64-61 in a Big Sky Conference men’s basketball game.
Eastern, which lost sole possession of first place, is now 3-1 in the conference and 6-8 overall. The Hornets moved to 8-6 and 2-1.
Gonzales made 7 of 8 field goals in the second half, including a pair of 3-pointers in the last 6:44.
“He really hurt us in the end,” Eastern head coach Steve Aggers said.
Aaron Olson led EWU with 15 points. Will Levy came off the bench for 13 and took eight rebounds.
