Phoenix Couple Admits To Growing Marijuana

A Phoenix couple has admitted to having a marijuana operation in a Hayden home.

On Monday, Stephen M. LaPlante, 29, and Tammy R. LaPlante, 28, entered guilty pleas in U.S. District Court to charges of conspiring to manufacture marijuana, according to U.S. Attorneys.

The couple admitted to moving into the home last year and growing marijuana plants. A dispute with a partner in the operation caused them to move.

On April 15, the Kootenai County Drug Task Force found 744 plants in the house. An investigation led to the charges.

Stephen LaPlante is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 18. Tammy LaPlante is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 21.
