Road Work Eases Access To Freeway
Motorists traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 95 have better access to westbound Interstate 90, thanks to work completed Thursday.
The southbound shoulders and turn lanes of U.S. 95 at Appleway Avenue and Haycraft Street have been changed to a through right lane, which widens U.S. 95 to three through lanes. Motorists are now able to either turn right at Haycraft or Appleway, or go through the Appleway intersection to access I-90.
The change allows drivers traveling westbound on I-90 to merge sooner, according to Idaho Transportation Department officials, and should reduce congestion. Nearly 600 vehicles use the right turn lane during the afternoon peak hour.
