Nic Therapist Program Accredited

North Idaho College’s physical therapist assistant program was fully accredited recently by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.

The program was developed in 1996.

Two classes of students - 22 in all - have graduated from the program during the four-year accreditation process.

The 16-month program requires students to complete 27 credits of course work. Then students must pass a state licensing examination and work under the supervision of a physical therapist.

Instructor Randy Edwards said NIC students generally score above average on the licensing exam.

Graduates of the program are employed in hospitals, nursing homes, private practices and rehabilitation centers.

For more information about the program, call NIC’s admissions office at (208) 769-3311 or Edwards at (208) 769-7829.
