Grant Allows Trails To Be Maintained

From Staff

Visitors to the Sawtooth National Recreation Area will more easily access trails thanks to a grant from the Sawtooth Society.

The grant means the U.S. Forest Service can rehabilitate and maintain about 300 miles of trails in the Sawtooth, White Cloud and Boulder Mountains. Workers will clear the trails of brush and deadfall, clear water bars and maintain signs. Some trails will undergo minor reconstruction.

An anonymous donor gave $10,000 for the project, while The Idaho Statesman contributed $2,000.
