Searchers Find Missing Man’S Body

James Dewayne Kraus, 66, wandered away from his Harrison home late Sunday and never returned.

A county search and rescue team found Kraus’ body in a densely wooded area near Carlin Bay at 4 p.m. Wednesday, about 1.5 miles from his house. Kraus died of self-inflicted injury, officials said.

An autopsy was performed Thursday.

Family members first reported Kraus missing Tuesday evening.

The search with Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies and rescue teams began Wednesday morning.
