Search For District Judge Narrowed To 2
Bonneville County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jon Shindurling and Caribou County Magistrate Ronald Hart of Soda Springs are finalists to succeed retiring 7th District Judge Ted Wood.
The Idaho Judicial Council submitted the names to Gov. Dirk Kempthorne this week after interviewing six candidates for the job last Friday. Kempthorne will choose Wood’s successor.
Wood, 58, is stepping down in July to pursue his part-time business and hobby of photography. He has been on the bench for 10 years, hearing a variety of civil and criminal cases.
Shindurling, 53, has been with the Bonneville County prosecutor’s office since 1994 and works primarily on major drug cases. He also has worked with the Juvenile Rehabilitation Group in Seattle and practiced law privately in Idaho Falls and Twin Falls.
Hart, 57, has been a magistrate for 13 years and previously practiced criminal and civil law in Idaho Falls. He is an Idaho Falls native who attended law school at the University of Idaho.
