Cda Parade Picks Grand Marshals

Students from two local high schools and North Idaho College were chosen as honorary grand marshals for the Fourth of July parade.

David Nosler is a North Idaho College student working toward a degree in computer science. He returned to school after 20 years to fulfill his personal goal of completing his formal education. He will graduate in 2001.

Jake Freeman is graduating from Lake City High School. “He’s our valedictorian,” said Principal John Brumley, “an incredible athlete, active in student government and volunteers much of his time outside school.” He is an Idaho Top Scholar, a National Honor Society member, and lettered in track and football.

Patty Stranger of Coeur d’Alene High School did a senior project on “peer mediation and elementary schools.” She is a first chair clarinetist, active in the Drug Free Youth program, a National Honor Society member, and captain of varsity basketball and soccer teams.

Nominations for other grand marshals are still being accepted by the Coeur d’Alene Area Chamber of Commerce.
