Probe Finds No Ibp Plant Problems
A team of state and federal investigators conducted a surprise inspection Wednesday at the Iowa Beef Processors meat packing plant near Pasco.
Following up on allegations of animal cruelty and worker safety violations, the inspectors said they saw no current evidence of either.
The team, which included the state veterinarian and representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and state Department of Labor and Industries, was formed by Gov. Gary Locke in response to citizen complaints.
The group will continue to review allegations about past problems at the plant.
