Movies and the American legal system have enjoyed a long relationship. Now a Washington State University criminal justice course is examining that relationship.
Open to the public, the course meets at 6 p.m. Tuesdays in the Phase One Building Auditorium at Spokane’s WSU Riverpoint campus, 668 N. Riverpoint Blvd.
The remaining course schedule includes screenings of the following films:
Tuesday: “Boys Don’t Cry” (1999).
July 4: “Conspiracy: The Trial of the Chicago 8” (1987).
July 11: “Serpico” (1973).
July 18: “The Shawshank Redemption: (1994).
July 25: “The Green Mile” (1999).
Each screening will be followed by a discussion of “the societal and policy implocations involved in the film.” The showings are free and open to the public (although attendance is restricted to those 18 and older).
