Have A Blast On The Fourth

The Spokane American Music Festival isn’t the only place to check out fireworks in the area. Here’s a list of some of the other prime spots for Independence Day sky shows and celebrations in the Inland Northwest. All events take place Tuesday unless otherwise noted:

Eastern Washington

* Colville: Fireworks begin at dusk at the Stevens County Fairgrounds.

* Davenport: The Two Rivers Casino hosts a salmon feed ($5 per plate) starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, with fireworks at dusk.

* Grand Coulee Dam: Crafts fair and activities begin at 10 a.m. Fireworks begin at 10:35 p.m., following the laser show at 10 p.m.

* Moses Lake: The Sammy Eubanks Band performs in the Centennial Amphitheater at 8 p.m., with fireworks to follow.

* Othello: The Sun Faire celebration starts at 11 a.m. in Lion’s Park and features a talent show, soccer and three-on-three tournaments, food and games. Fireworks begin at dusk.

* Pullman: Barbecue, live entertainment and games start at 5 p.m. in Sunnyside Park. Fireworks begin at dusk. (It’s the first time the city has had a computerized, choreographed show.)

* Soap Lake: Fireworks display will be at 10 p.m. Sunday.

North Idaho

* Athol: Silverwood Theme Park hosts fireworks at dusk Tuesday and every Friday and Saturday after that until Aug. 26.

* Bayview: Fireworks begin at dusk Saturday in front of the Hudson Bay Resort.

* Coeur d’Alene: Parade starts at 11 a.m. down Sherman Avenue, with barbecue and live music to follow. Fireworks begin around 10 p.m. at Independence Point.

* Kellogg: The Kellogg KOA will have fireworks at 10 p.m., wrapping up a day of activities including pancake breakfast, craft fair, pie- and watermelon-eating contests, games, barbecue and other entertainment.

* Moscow: A parade begins at 9:30 a.m. down Main Street, with special events in town all day. Fireworks begin about 9:30 p.m. at Guy Wicks Field.

* Priest Lake: Fireworks at dusk at Hill’s Resort and on Saturday at dusk at Cavanaugh Bay Marina.

* Sandpoint: A parade runs through downtown at 10 a.m., with fireworks at dusk at City Beach.

* Worley: The Coeur d’Alene Casino hosts fireworks at dusk. The casino will also be giving away two Jet Skis, with drawings starting at 7 p.m.
