Science, Physics Contests Scheduled For May In Cda

Students from throughout the region can compete in science and physics contests at Silverwood Theme Park in May.

Physics Day, for grades 9 through 12, will be May 23. Science Day will follow on the 24th for students in grades 5 through 8. Both events last from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Last year, 1,700 students attended the event each day.

Students can compete in contests, including measurement and logo-designing. In the engineering and construction contest, students will build working roller coasters.

First-place science departments or classes will receive $100 and a trophy. Second- and third-place groups also will receive trophies. Awards are donated by Kootenai Electric Cooperative.

Science classes and departments can participate for $13.50 per student.
