Irish Celebration Tonight At Met

No one should be surprised by the merrymaking at the Irefest: A Celebration of All Things Irish, tonight at The Met. It will be, as the title notes, all-Irish all evening long.

The St. Patrick’s Day event opens with an open jam from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by performances by the Spokane Irish bands Dubh Cath, the Irish Aires and master fiddler Arvid Lundin.

Arvid builds and repairs string instruments at his shop in Spokane, Lundin’s Violins, and has won numerous fiddling competitions throughout the region. In 1990 he toured the Soviet Union with the Shastye Folk Dance Ensemble.

The performance will be followed by a second open jam, from 10 to 11 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and are available through G&B and at the door.
