Slide-Damaged Road Gets Limited Reopening

Cape Horn Road, closed since a Jan. 30 rock slide, will reopen on a limited basis for residents only starting next week, according to the Lakes Highway District.

The slide isolated about 75 families living northeast of Bayview.

Starting March 31, the road will open only in the evenings to residents. Crews will continue to work during the day.

On April 8, the road will open to all traffic; expect minor delays while crews continue cleanup.

The ferry service and emergency command center will close April 7.
