Aaron Sedler lined a home run to left field in the first inning Friday, and the blast held up for a 2-0 non-league baseball win for Ferris over visiting Lake City.

Sedler jumped on Aaron Gabriel’s one-out pitch. Sedler has three homers in the last three games, all wins for Ferris (3-1).

Connor Finnerty (1-0) checked the Timberwolves (0-3) on two hits, T.J. Rider’s single and double.

Joe Vicory and Kacy Fields combined on a four-hitter, and Orofino defeated visiting Bonners Ferry 14-3 in a non-league game shortened to five innings by the 10-run rule. Kevin Dining had two of the Badgers’ four hits.

Softball

Cara JeanBlanc had four hits on the day during Orofino’s 17-1, 18-10 non-league sweep of visiting Bonners Ferry. BF freshman Jodi Blackmore had two hits in the second game.
