In the Intermountain League, Timberlake and Bonners Ferry split a doubleheader in Rathdrum. The Tigers won the opener 12-6, and the Badgers the nightcap 10-9. Jason Scheu hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning in the opener for Timberlake. In second game, Timberlake scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh, but left the tying run on second base. Justin Solomon hit a two-run homer for Timberlake in the seventh.

Andy Wiley pitched a five-inning no-hitter, striking out nine, as Northport defeated Columbia 22-0 to complete a Panorama League doubleheader sweep. Wiley, who walked three, also contributed to the Mustangs’ offense with his sixth home run. The Mustangs won the opener 10-1.

Drew Kok, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound offensive lineman from West Valley High School in Yakima, has signed a letter of intent with Eastern Washington, Eagles coach Paul Wulff announced Monday.

Kok, a first-team All-Mid Valley League selection on both offensive and defensive, caught the attention of Wulff and his staff at EWU’s 1999 lineman’s camp.

“We really liked his aggressiveness and size,” Wulff said. “We feel he’ll add some toughness and attitude to our offensive line.”

Wulff also announced the addition of five other incoming freshmen who will join the Eagles in the fall.

They are Keith Garner, a 6-1, 205-pound All-Great Northern League linebacker from Chewelah; Martese Henderson, 5-8, 170, running back, Spanaway, Wash.; Mike Koenen, 5-10, 160, kicker, and Paul Terrell, 6-4, 215, tight end, both Ferndale, Wash.; and Neal Sharma, 6-3, 190, quarterback, San Jose, Calif.
