School District Sets Levy Election

The Wallace School District will hold a supplemental levy election on Tuesday.

The district will ask its patrons to support a $986,826 replacement levy, which is 10 percent less than the current $1.097 million levy. Taxpayers will pay 78 cents less per $1,000 of assessed value if the new levy passes.

For example, a homeowner with a $50,000 assessment, after the homeowners exemption, will pay $157.70, instead of the $177.18 that is being paid this year.
