Background: Haven, 50, has served in Coeur d’Alene since 1996. He spent the first 20 years of his ministerial career serving various churches in the Yakima area.

He was ordained in 1975 after graduating from the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, Calif. He did his undergraduate studies at Denison University and was part of a student team that traveled to area Baptist churches and preached.

Personal: Haven is divorced and has a grown son living in Yakima.
