County Plans Public Subdivision Hearings

Kootenai County Commissioners voted Wednesday to schedule public hearings concerning two proposed subdivisions around Hauser Lake.

Edgewood Estates, a 40-lot development on the west side of the lake just north of the city of Hauser, was recommended for approval by the city and county’s joint planning committee Oct. 10. A public hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Kootenai County Administration Building.

The hearing was set because residents opposed to the project have more information for th e commissioners, planning director Cheri Howell said.

A public hearing for another proposed development called Hauser Heights will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at the county’s administration building. The proposed subdivision, 74 lots on 150 acres, is north of state Highway 53 and west of the city of Hauser.
