A hunter missing over the weekend in the Caribou Ridge area of Boundary County was found Sunday unharmed, the Boundary County Sheriff’s Department said.

Travis Alan Geib, 20, spent the night in the back country after he failed to meet up with his hunting party on Saturday.

The Bonner County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, the Search and Dive Rescue and Boundary Volunteer Ambulance began a search for Geib Saturday afternoon.

A search plane was called to assist, but was unable to help because of bad weather, the sheriff’s department said.

Searchers found Geib on Sunday at 9:09 a.m. He was able to walk out under his own power, and did not require medical attention. Searchers credited his good condition to his outdoor preparedness.
