Pemberton Paces Idaho In Exhibition

Darci Pemberton tossed in 16 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to spark the Idaho Vandals to a 63-62 exhibition basketball victory over Manukau Aukland on Saturday at Memorial Gym.

Jennifer Schooler and Jennae Krell each added 10 points for the Vandals, who had to withstand a 3-point barrage by Manukau in the second half.

Idaho led 34-27 at the half, but Manukau hit 7 of 17 3-pointers after the break to keep it close. The visitors finished 9 for 22 for the game, compared to a 3-for-12 showing from the Vandals.

Manukau’s Chaleme Smiler led all scorers with 18 points, teammate Maria Noon added 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
