Class For Forest Pros Set For Dec. 8

An upcoming University of Idaho class focuses on the animals, plants, insects and diseases that can get in the way of forest stewardship. The Dec. 8 class runs from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the UI-Kootenai County Extension Office, 106 E. Dalton Ave., in Coeur d’Alene. The program targets forest owners and natural resource professionals.

Topics to be covered include: Swiss needle cast in Idaho; enhancing reforestation success; movement of herbicides and fertilizers in forest soils; and Douglas fir tussock moth outbreaks. Presentations are scheduled from the U.S. Forest Service, University of Idaho, Oregon State University, Idaho Department of Lands and Wilber-Ellis Co. Registration costs $5.
