Grace (Betts) Robbins Spokane
Service for Grace Estelle (Betts) Robbins, 89, will be at 10 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A 75-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Robbins died Thursday. She was born in Malden, Wash.
She graduated from Hillyard High School and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Joe; two sons, Albert Robbins of Wenatchee and Douglas Robbins of Vancouver, Wash.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Charles Peterson Sr. Renton, Wash.
Graveside service for Charles Lewis Peterson Sr., 71, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash. Faull-Stokes Mortuary in Renton is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Peterson, who was born in Spokane, died Nov. 19.
During the Korean War he served in the Army.
In 1955 he married Edna Boschee.
He worked in maintenance at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
He and his wife moved to Renton in 1967.
Mr. Peterson worked as a machine operator for Boeing and later worked at Montesano Chemical Co. for 12 years. He retired in 1995.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Bellevue.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Peterson Jr. of Renton; a daughter, Debra Murphy of Auburn, Wash.; a brother, Leslie Peterson Jr. of Spokane; a sister, May Hite of Newport, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

Jeffery Wayne Greenacres
Service for Jeffery Lloyd Wayne, 35, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenacres Christian Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Wayne died Saturday of complications from juvenile diabetes.
He worked in the construction of mobile homes and was a member of Greenacres Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Crystal Wayne of Spokane and Symantha Wayne of Greenacres; his father, Dennis Wayne of Las Vegas; his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Harvey Brumbaugh of Greenacres; a brother, John Wayne of Greenacres; a sister, Jena Gerken of Kennewick; and his grandfather, Rex Davis of Greenacres.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
James Nebergall Spokane
Memorial service for James E. Nebergall, 55, was Monday at Fourth Memorial Church.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Nebergall died Friday.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Nebergall of Anaheim, Calif.; a brother, Robert Nebergall of Deer Park; and a sister, Virginia Pippin of Buena Vista, Calif.
Richard Evans Spokane
Service for Richard G. Evans, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Evans died Saturday.
He was a retail driver for Darigold.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; a daughter, Nancy Collison; two sons, Rand and Terry Evans, all of Spokane; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Tiffanie Woodiwiss Lind, Wash.
Service for Tiffanie Rae Woodiwiss, 24, was Monday at Lind Methodist Church. Burial followed at the Lind Cemetery.
Miss Woodiwiss, who was born in Long Beach, Calif., died Tuesday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Highway 395 south of Ritzville.
In 1991 her family moved to Lind from Moses Lake.
She was working as a certified nurses assistant at the Life Care Center in Ritzville. She had also worked at The Rose Garden and the Ritzville Hospital and as a caregiver in Spokane.
Survivors include her parents, Tim and Margie Woodiwiss of Lind; six sisters, Tara, Taj, Ty-Beccah, Margaret and Mary Woodiwiss, all of Lind, and Tawni Woodiwiss of Boise; four brothers, Tim, Terry, Michael and Malachai Woodiwiss, all of Lind; and her grandparents, Harold and Vee Terry of Warden, Wash., and Margaret Woodiwiss of Moses Lake.
Betty Bolstad Post Falls
Memorial service for Betty Jean Bolstad, 53, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Wallace, Mrs. Bolstad died Nov. 15.
She was raised in North Idaho and was a teacher at Dalton Elementary School until 1975. She then became a supervisor for R.L. Polk and Co., where she worked until 1985.
She married Dean Bolstad in 1985.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, crafts and baking.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cindy Conces of Coeur d’Alene and Stephanie Hiatt of Bonners Ferry; a stepdaughter, Kristi Blazon, and two stepsons, Clifford and Vernon Bolstad, all of Cheney; her mother, Gladys Corbett of Spokane; a sister, Edith Toombs, and two brothers, Tom and Denny Corbett, all of Spokane.
Hank Harshman Spokane
Service for Hank W. Harshman, 65, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.
Mr. Harshman, who was born in Schotten, Germany, died Wednesday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident north of Priest River, Idaho.
He was a 43-year Spokane resident.
Mr. Harshman worked as a corrections officer for 14 years with the Spokane County Jail. He retired in February.
Survivors include a son, Kent Harshman; a daughter, Kami Weiss; his mother, Mia Harshman; and two granddaughters.
Warren Smawley Spokane
Memorial service for J. Warren Smawley, 75, will be at 2 p.m. today at Fourth Memorial Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Smawley died Nov. 21.
He graduated in 1943 from Lewis and Clark High School.
During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Smawley received a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1950 from Washington State University, a bachelor’s degree in education in 1965 from Gonzaga University and a master’s degree in education in 1969 from Whitworth College.
From 1966 to 1970 he taught and coached at Erving School for School District 81. He also worked as a counselor at St. Aloysius Catholic School and Garfield and Bemiss elementary schools.
He became a certified drug and alcohol counselor in 1981 and worked with the Sparks Program, Path Finders and a Native American program. He retired in 1995.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Smawley of Spokane, David Smawley of Arizona and Brian Smawley of Florida; a sister, Shirley Stephenson of Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Earl Evans Newman Lake, Wash.
Memorial service for Earl Evans, 70, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home.
Mr. Evans, who was born in Grethel, Ky., died Thursday.
He worked as a coal miner until he was in his 20s. He then moved to southern Idaho and worked as a bricklayer. Mr. Evans later worked as a construction engineer and supervised several projects in the Inland Northwest.
He was a member of the Bricklayers Union and received a 40-year pin from the union in 1999.
Mr. Evans retired to Newman Lake in 1976.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Barbara; two sons, Earl Evans of Warsaw, Ind., and Gary Evans of Indianapolis; two daughters, Kimberly Hoff and Debbie Evans, both of Newman Lake; three sisters, Verlie Hall of Warsaw, and Ethel Williams and Hazel Hamilton, both of Grethel; two brothers, Kennis and Butler Evans, both of Grethel; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Center Christmas Toy Fund.
Grace Stewart Spokane
Visitation for Grace Caroline Stewart, 88, will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Yates Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Stewart, who was born in Utah, died Friday.
She grew up and attended schools in Spokane. In 1930 she married Harold Stewart. They moved to the Cape Horn area on Lake Pend Oreille. They lived in North Idaho for more than 20 years and she worked at The Crescent department store in downtown Spokane for many years.
They returned to Spokane in 1980. Her husband died in 1982.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Hillyard Rebekah Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Groom of Spokane; a sister, Geneve Thompson of Kona, Hawaii; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Donald Hickey Spokane
Memorial service for Donald Wesley Hickey, 80, will be at 1 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.
A 45-year Spokane resident, Mr. Hickey died Wednesday. He was born in Victor, Mont.
He served in the Army during World War II.
For 40 years he worked as a truck driver for Zanetti Brothers and TriState Oil.
Mr. Hickey was a member of the Spokane Bowling Association, the Elks Lodge No. 331 in Wallace, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1435 and the Teamsters Union Local No. 690.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Belle; four daughters, Donna Greger and Kim Hunter, both of Spokane, Marilyn Shields of Coeur d’Alene and Jeanne Wright of Gaylord, Mich.; two brothers, Bruce Hickey of Kellogg and Raymond Hickey of Washougal, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.

LaVerne (Cunningham) Wood Spokane
Rosary for LaVerne Elizabeth (Cunningham) Wood, 96, will be at 7 p.m. today at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 76-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Wood died Saturday. She was born in Bismarck, N.D.
She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1922 and from Cheney Normal School.
Mrs. Wood taught in Sawyer, Idaho, and later worked in the classified advertising department of The Spokesman-Review, and for JC Penney. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Cathedral Place, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Altar Society, St. Theresa’s Guild and Eagles Lodge No. 2 Auxiliary.
Her husband of 38 years, Lyman, died in 1966.
Survivors include a son, Bob Wood of Spokane; a daughter, Barbara Green of Federal Way, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn (James) McIntyre Spokane
Memorial service for Evelyn B. (James) McIntyre, 92, is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Spokane Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McIntyre, who was born in West Liberty, Iowa, died Wednesday.
She graduated from San Jose (Calif.) State College.
Mrs. McIntyre taught in Iowa and Nevada before moving to Salinas, Calif. She then taught for the North Monterey County School District and retired in 1973.
After her husband William died in 1990 she moved to Spokane.
She was a member of the California Teachers Association, the California Retirement Association of Monterey County, the Santa Lucia Daughters of the American Revolution and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 51 Auxiliary in Spokane.
Survivors include a brother, Curtis James of West Liberty; a grandson and three great-grandchildren.
