Primary Loser Files As Write-In
A Montpelier businessman appointed to the Idaho House last January only to lose his bid for a full term in the Republican primary last May filed as a write-in candidate on Monday for the Nov. 7 general election.
Rep. Clair Cheirrett was narrowly defeated by Eulalie Teichert Langford of Montpelier in a three-way primary, in which the third candidate dropped out of the race but failed to get his name off the ballot.
Cheirrett faces an uphill battle as a write-in in a highly rural district that includes Bear Lake, Caribou, Franklin and Oneida counties and two precincts in Bannock County.
