Knife Brandished During Store Robbery

Police are seeking information regarding a Monday night robbery of a Priest River convenience store.

The robbery took place at about 11:30 p.m. at Zippy’s Food Store in the Rivertown Mall. The robber, wearing a gray ski mask, was brandishing a knife, said Priest River Police Chief Elaine Savage.

The robber stomped on the store’s telephone, destroying it, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The employee described the robber as brown-eyed, 5 feet 8 inches tall, between 140 and 160 pounds, and wearing dark clothes. He had two or three days of facial hair growth.

Savage asks that anyone with information regarding the robbery call 448-1521 or Bonner County Dispatch at 255-2946.
