Denzel Washington has an unequaled ability to portray sheer force of character. In “Remember the Titans,” he follows brilliant performances as Malcolm X and Rubin “Hurricane” Carter by playing a football coach. But he’s hardly just any coach, as an early-morning speech on the Gettysburg battlefield proves.
