NEW FACES:
Randall B. Crouch has joined the Spokane office of Hummel Architects P.A. as a civil engineer. He will provide in-house civil engineering services on the firm’s projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. Crouch has 25 years of experience as both a self-employed practitioner and working for firms in the Spokane area. He taught surveying at Gonzaga University’s School of Engineering for several years on a part-time basis. Crouch earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Gonzaga in 1975.
Dr. Elizabeth Grosen has joined the staff of Deaconess Medical Center as a gynecologic oncologist. She was previously an assistant professor of gynecologic oncology at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wis. Her practice includes a full range of care for women diagnosed with gynecological cancers, as well as consulting with women regarding hormone treatment and the risk of developing cancer. She received her medical degree from the University of Washington. After two years of general surgery residency at Huron Road Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Arizona Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of California Medical Center in Orange, Calif. Her office is located in Suite 102 at the Deaconess Health and Education Center.
Jennifer Harbour has been named to a three-year term as a member of the Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Harbour has served 12 years as director of sales for Spokane-based Hospitality Associates Inc., a hotel management company.
Brian N. Edwards has joined Kootenai Medical Center as a human resource partner in the hospital’s personnel department. Edwards is a 1998 graduate of Eastern Washington University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in labor relations. He completed his degree while serving as a departmental health and safety representative at Kaiser Aluminum in Spokane. He recently completed a six-month assignment with the human resource department of Inland Northwest Health Services.
Gary Markham has been appointed a sales associate with the Spokane general office of New York Life.
David Weir has joined Byte Dynamics Inc. as director of sales and marketing. Weir’s background includes experience in wireless data, mobile computing applications and system integration. He spent seven years at Motorola, during which he completed projects in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America. His final position with Motorola was product and marketing director for the Wireless Data Division subscriber group. He later was instrumental in developing the EM distribution network for Sierra Wireless as director of OEM sales.
Randall & Hurley Inc., a Spokane-based pension administration and consulting firm, has hired Ramona Caruso as a pension consultant. She will provide compliance and administrative services with an emphasis on Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) and large 401(k) clients. Caruso received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Washington State University, where she minored in electrical engineering. She is working toward a Qualified Plan Administrator designation from the American Society of Pension Actuaries.
STARTING UP:
Greg Bishop has established a Rolfing practice at 157 W. Hayden in Hayden, Idaho. The practice involves body work, structural integration and movement education. Bishop trained at the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colo., and in Brazil. He is a certified Rolfer and Rolf Movement practitioner.
A Spokane office of Home Instead Senior Care has opened at Suite 101A in the Red Flag Building, 104 S. Freya. The company provides companionship and home help to older individuals or couples capable of managing their physical needs, but requiring nonmedical assistance. Services include light housework, bathing assistance and meal preparation, as well as transportation for grocery shopping or doctor’s appointments. David Phillips is Spokane operations manager. The Spokane office is the newest of more than 250 nationwide.
