Suspect Arrested In Assault, Shooting
A 19-year-old Post Falls man was arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated assault after he allegedly beat and fired a gun at another man.
Levi Hawley was arrested after witnesses said he beat Jeremiah Amos Rouvik, 18, with his fists and a gun, and shot the gun at Rouvik, police said. The location of the incident wasn’t available.
Witnesses directed deputies to the area of Fish Creek west of Twin Lakes, where they found Hawley and recovered a rifle and a shotgun. No injuries were sustained from the gunfire, police said.
Rouvik was found by deputies in a battered and hypothermic condition early Saturday at a Texaco station on State Highway 41 in Twin Lakes. He was taken to Kootenai Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
The case remains under investigation.
Hawley was lodged at the Kootenai County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and an unrelated criminal contempt warrant for racing on a public highway. He is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday.
