Paternity Suit Against Candidate Dismissed

From Staff

A paternity suit against Kooskia Mayor Skip Brandt, a Republican candidate for the Idaho Senate, was dismissed after DNA testing proved Brandt was not the father of the 14-year-old boy named in the suit.

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare filed the suit in Idaho County’s 2nd District Court when the boy’s mother, Juliann Dillard of Gresham, Ore., applied for public assistance.

Brandt, 36, who initially said he did not know Dillard, later acknowledged knowing her but said he had been confused by her married name. He said Dillard is from the Kooskia area.
