Edward Jacobson Rathdrum, Idaho

Visitation for Edward L. Jacobson, 77, will be today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Memorial service is planned for Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene.

Mr. Jacobson, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Monday.

He was a longtime Coeur d’Alene area resident and an Army veteran. He had worked as a teacher, custodian, mill worker and newspaper carrier.

Mr. Jacobson raised birds and attended St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Survivors include four brothers, Tom, Mike, Martin and Louie Jacobson, all of Coeur d’Alene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eva Thompson Wallace

Memorial service for Eva Mae Thompson, 60, will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Pinehurst, Idaho. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Thompson, who was born in West Virginia, died Sunday in an automobile accident near Cataldo, Idaho.

She lived in Florida before moving to the Silver Valley in 1968. She recently had worked as a certified nurses’ aide at Autumn Haven Elderly Care in Hayden Lake, Idaho.

In 1988 she married Gerald Thompson. She was also a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Tom Boots of Pinehurst and Carl Kellar of Prichard, Idaho; two daughters, Mary Gonzalas of Prichard and Nellie Cutrufello of Vero Beach, Fla.; three stepsons, Tim Thompson of Coeur d’Alene, Jack Thompson of Livingston, Mont., and Jerry Thompson of Boise; two brothers, Charles Kellar of Cortland, Ohio, and Billy Kellar of Pinehurst; a sister, Agatha Farr of Leavittsburg, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Charles Domke Spokane

Funeral Mass for Charles E. Domke, 85, will be at 9 a.m. today at St. Paschal’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Trentwood. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A longtime Spokane resident, Mr. Domke died Friday. He was born in Harrington, Wash.

He graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1934.

Mr. Domke served in the Army Air Corps during World War II with the 421st Night Fighters Squadron. He served in the South Pacific and the Philippines.

He worked in the produce industry for 70 years and was co-owner of Ed’s Market.

Mr. Domke was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and St. Paschal’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by a sister, Marie Taylor of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paschal’s Catholic Church.

Helen White Gem, Idaho

Memorial service for Helen Louise White, 84, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Wallace Funeral Chapel. Shoshone Funeral Service in Wallace is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. White, who died Saturday, was born in Gem.

She attended schools in Gem and Burke and graduated in 1933 from Wallace High School.

She married Edward White in 1934. They owned Gem Dairy. She also was a homemaker.

Mrs. White was a member of the Wallace Eagles Auxiliary, the Elks Lodge and the Wallace Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed baking, fishing, and boating on Lake Pend Oreille in her younger years.

Her husband died in 1992.

Survivors include a son, Jerry White of Superior, Mont.; a daughter, Karen streeter of Wallace; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Julie, Janet, Dana, Joshua, Kiley and Kimberly; and five great-grandchildren.

June (Branscombe) Olson Spokane

Memorial service for June D. (Branscombe) Olson, 80, is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Shadle Park Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall. Private burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 50-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Olson died Sept. 5. She was born in Duluth, Minn.

She was a homemaker and a member of Shadle Park Kingdom Hall.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; two daughters, Sue Weavil of Chattaroy and Debbie Wiemers of Rathdrum, Idaho; a brother, Gerald Branscombe of Duluth; three sisters, Eleanor Happy of Spokane, Lorraine MacLeod of Tucson, Ariz., and Barbara Larson of Duluth; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Tom Kadoya Spokane

Memorial service for Tom Y. Kadoya, 77, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Kadoya died Friday.

He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.

Mr. Kadoya worked as a welder for Novelty Auto Carriage. He later worked at the Hi Fumi En apartments.

He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Aiko; a son, Jerry Kadoya, and two daughters, Janice Suttner and Laura Foedisch, all of Spokane; a sister, Eva Aoyama of Spokane; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church endowment fund.

Jim April Sandpoint

Memorial service for Jim April, 85, will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Mr. April, who died Thursday, was born in Sandpoint.

In 1935 he married Pearl Koski. They lived in Bonner County, where he worked for S.I. Railroad, Inland Motor Freight and Ripkey Grocery. He later owned a Union 76 service station in Sandpoint. Mr. April worked for Bonner County and retired in 1977.

He was a member of the Sandpoint Eagles and Elks lodges and was also active as a youth baseball coach and managed and sponsored an adult softball team.

Mr. April enjoyed fishing, bowling and golfing.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 65 years, Pearl; three children, Jim April Jr. of Walla Walla, Nanci Tullos of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Pat Sauer of Sandpoint; three sisters, Edith LeRoy of Scappoose, Ore., Betty Brown of Milwaukie, Ore., and Kay Harrison of Portland; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Helyn Blackwell Osburn, Idaho

Graveside service for Helyn Flora Blackwell, 82, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Chewelah, Wash., Mrs. Blackwell died Sunday.

She moved to the Silver Valley in the 1920s and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1936.

She later married Charles Blackwell and was a homemaker. Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Charles Blackwell of Wallace; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leona Baulne Spokane

Graveside service for Leona S. Baulne, 93, was Tuesday at Pines Cemetery.

A 55-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Baulne died Saturday.

She was born in Odessa, Wash., where she graduated from high school.

Mrs. Baulne was a homemaker, and was a member and volunteer at the Spokane Valley Senior Center.

Her husband of 35 years, Frank, died in 1976.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Gene Doolittle Priest River, Idaho

Visitation for Gene Calvin Doolittle, 82, will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River.

Mr. Doolittle, who was born in Sandpoint, died Friday.

His family moved to Priest River when he was an infant.

In 1940 he married Doloris Cady.

During World War II he hauled lumber into the Farragut Naval Station and ran an independent fleet of logging and lumber trucks.

In 1956 he worked at Sullivan Lake for Diamond Match Co. He later owned and operated a mill in Olney, Mont., with his brothers, and later operated a mill in Priest River for his brother, Robert.

He began working as a heavy-equipment operator for the Georgia Pacific Lumber Mill in Priest River in the 1960s. He retired in 1985 from Louisiana Pacific.

Mr. Doolittle was a member of Kaniksu Masonic Lodge No. 97 in Priest River.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas Doolittle of Spokane and Patrick Doolittle of Priest River; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Weightman Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Marjorie Ann Weightman, 71, will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Weightman, who was born in Seattle, died Friday.

She grew up in Seattle and moved to Nampa, Idaho, in the late 1940s. She moved to St. Maries in 1965.

Miss Weightman moved to Post Falls in the early 1990s and then to the Coeur d’Alene Homes retirement facility.

She enjoyed making hook rugs.

Survivors include a stepbrother, Lee James of St. Maries; an uncle, Harold Callahan of Palouse, Wash.; an aunt, Betty Drange of Renton, Wash.; and several cousins.
