Cda Seeking Reserve Officers

From Staff

The Coeur d’Alene Police Department is accepting applications for volunteer reserve officers until Oct. 1.

Reserve officers work with commissioned staff throughout the year, and must put in 16 hours of volunteer time a month once they begin.

Applicants must be 21, but need not be a Coeur d’Alene resident. Before beginning, they must pass an oral examination and a criminal background check.

Reserve officers will attend reserve academy training from January to March. The training includes four-hour sessions on two weeknights and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Once volunteers have completed the academy, they will receive a reserve-level classification.

Applications can be picked up at the Coeur d’Alene police station at 3818 Schreiber Way. Call Officer Erik Turrell at 769-2320.
