Charles Lunsford Kellogg

Graveside service for Charles Weldon Lunsford, 62, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lunsford, who was born in McGehee, Ark., died Sunday.

He was an Air Force veteran and a longtime Silver Valley resident.

Mr. Lunsford lived in Kellogg and later moved to Oklahoma. He returned to the Kellogg area in 1971 and worked at the Bunker Hill Zinc Plant until retiring in 1981.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Church of Christ in Pinehurst, Idaho.

Survivors include his wife of more than 42 years, Lois; two sons, Charles Lunsford of Kellogg and Ralph Lunsford of Oklahoma; four daughters, Trella Brown of Kellogg, Mildred Thomas of Boville, Idaho, Eunice Grant of American Falls, Idaho, and Alice Draper of Kellogg; his mother, Lois Shafer of Kellogg; two brothers, Danny Lunsford of Florida and Leonard Lunsford of Wardner, Idaho; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Warren Vinson St. Maries

Service for Warren J. Vinson, 79, was held Monday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in St. Maries. Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Vinson died Wednesday.

Born and raised in Billings, Mont., he moved to St. Maries as a young man and helped his mother operate The Framdon Hotel there.

Mr. Vinson then served with the Army during World War II and returned to St. Maries after his military discharge.

He later moved to San Francisco and worked as a locksmith before moving back to St. Maries in 1970.

Mr. Vinson married Matilda Pahlke in 1980. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Masonic Lodge in Montana.

He enjoyed traveling, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife; and several stepchildren.

Marjorie Mars Osburn, Idaho

Service for Marjorie Adelle Mars, 82, will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Kellogg Funeral Chapel. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mars, who was born in Arlington, Wash., died Saturday.

She graduated from Kellogg High School.

She married George Mars in 1944, and they owned the Mountain View Motel in Osburn until 1997.

Mrs. Mars also worked at Bunker Hill Smelter during World War II.

Her husband died in 1987.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce Mars of Seattle and Rod Mars of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Evelyn Erickson of San Diego; and three grandchildren.

Lisa (Hamilton) Gorsuch Bellevue, Wash.

Memorial service for Lisa J. (Hamilton) Gorsuch, a former St. John, Wash., resident, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home. Graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John (Wash.) Cemetery.

Born in Colfax, Wash., Mrs. Gorsuch died Thursday. She was 28. She was raised in St. John and graduated from St. John-Endicott High School.

Mrs. Gorsuch received a bachelor’s degree in 1994 in consumer affairs from the University of Idaho.

She moved to Bellevue in 1994.

On May 13 she married Eric Gorsuch.

Mrs. Gorsuch worked for the American Red cross and was a certified cardiopulmonary resuscitation instructor.

She was a member and past grand officer of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, the Golden Link Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, the Wheatland Grange and the St. John Assembly.

Mrs. Gorsuch was a volunteer for the Eastside Literacy Council in Bellevue.

Survivors include her husband; her parents, Gordon and Joyce Hamilton of St. John; two brothers, David and Byron Hamilton, both of St. John; and a sister, Catherine Capra of Tustin, Calif.

Dorothy Ashby Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Dorothy Jean Ashby, 71, will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Williamette National Cemtery in Portland. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Ashby, who was born in Arkansas, died Sept. 15.

She married James Ashby in 1946, and they lived in California where she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Ashby moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1978 and was a member of Foursquare Gospel Family Life Center in Coeur d’Alene.

Mrs. Ashby was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include three sons, James Ashby Jr. of Beaumont, Texas, Kenneth Ashby of Coeur d’Alene, and Keith Ashby of Rathdrum, Idaho; three daughters, Carolyn Gates of Coeur d’Alene, and Lucy Leichtle and Cindy Paullin, both of California; three sisters, Syble Spies, Mildred McMinn and Susie Swope, all of Texas; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Rose Sorrells Moscow, Idaho

A gathering of family and friends for Rose W. Sorrells, 95, was held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Santa, Idaho. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sorrells, who was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, died Aug. 31.

She grew up and graduated from high school in Ohio and attended college at Kent State and Ashland University, where she received a master’s degree in education.

Mrs. Sorrells married Clell Warner in 1926. He died in 1968.

She taught school in Tucson, Ariz., and Waterville and Othello, Wash., and then worked for the government as a school teacher at Fort McDermott in Nevada.

She married Marvin Sorrells in 1969. He died in 1977.

She then lived in Oregon until moving to Moscow, Idaho, in 1990.

Survivors include a son, Bob Warner of Jefferson, Ore.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Raymond Hutchison Post Falls

Service for Raymond Hutchison, 62, will be held today at 4 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, with a potluck to follow at the chapel gathering center.

Mr. Hutchison, who was born in Hillsboro, Ore., died Friday.

He moved to Post Falls in 1945 and attended Post Falls High School.

He later traveled with the Fallsman Gospel Quartet.

Mr. Hutchison moved to California in the early 1980s and worked at various jobs and continued his musical career.

He moved back to Post Falls in 1988 and was involved as a musician at Falls Full Gospel Assembly, where his father and brother had pastored for many years.

Mr. Hutchison retired in 1997 due to illness.

Survivors include two children; a sister, Ruth Miller of Post Falls; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Norma Reames Spokane

Memorial service for Norma Jean Reames, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Knox Presbyterian Church. The Neptune Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Wenatchee, Mrs. Reames died Thursday.

She grew up in Brewster, Soap Lake and Ephrata, Wash., and graduated in 1944 from Ephrata High School.

In 1948 she married Richard Reames. She graduated from Whitworth College as a medical technologists that year.

Mrs. Reames worked as a medical technician until 1952 when she became a homemaker. She returned to school in 1978 and received a nursing degree.

Mrs. Reames was a registered nurse on the oncology ward at Holy Family Hospital for 12 years.

During the 1980s she was a foster parent to children from many different countries. She traveled as a nurse with a medical team through Healing the Children to Mexico and Guatemala.

Mrs. Reames was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Steven, David and Gary Reames; two daughters, Carolyn Dennis and Christine Jung Soo Wang; and seven grandchildren.

Roderick Moore Spokane

Service for Roderick Gardner Moore, 83, will be at 11 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Moore died Friday.

He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1935.

Mr. Moore served in the Army and was discharged as a first lieutenant in 1953.

In 1962 he graduated from Eastern Washington University.

He had worked as a cabinetmaker, home builder and painter. He also worked as a teacher for Spokane School District 81 for 15 years.

Mr. Moore was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 1435, Retired Officers Association, Disabled Officers Association, American Legion, Carpenters Union 98, Family Motor Coach Association, Brotherhood of Friends Band and the Retired Teachers of District 81.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Clara; two sons, Robert Moore of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Roderick Moore II of Valparaiso, Ind.; a daughter, Janis McGraw of Lake Oswego, Ore.; and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Albert Friesen Spokane

Memorial service for Albert J. Friesen, 60, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Free Methodist Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral HomeNorth is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Wenatchee, Mr. Friesen died Sept. 11.

In 1950 his family moved to Spokane from Entiat, Wash.

He completed high school through correspondence courses.

Mr. Friesen married Marlene Wright in 1969.

During the 1970s he worked in the loading dock area at Goodwill Industries.

He was a member of First Free Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Walter Friesen of Medimont, Idaho; and a siter, Mary Ann James of Plummer, Idaho.

Marjorie Friesen Spokane

Service for Marjorie M. Friesen, 87, will be at 12:30 today at HennesseySmith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Friesen, who was born in Admire, Kan., died Thursday.

She was a 50-year Spokane resident and worked in the retail sales industry.

Her husband of 42 years, Robert, died in 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Anita Quinn-Simons; four sisters, Irene Nelson of Newport, Wash., Wanita Lingaebach and Barbara Freeman, both of Priest River, Idaho, and Alma Murphy of Newberg, Ore.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Marion Mally Spokane

Funeral Mass for Marion M. Mally, 88, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Cathedral Our Lady of Lourdes. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 70-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Mally died Wednesday. She was born in Anaconda, Mont.

In 1956 she married A.J. “Pat” Mally.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Her husband died in 1998.

Mrs. Mally is survived a sister, June Toschi of Millbrae, Calif.

Ruth (Saunders) Riner Spokane

Memorial service for Ruth (Saunders) Riner, 91, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the community center at Rockwood Retirement Community. Private burial will precede the service at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Riner died Sept. 10.

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Riner was a homemaker and a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church. She also was involved in the church’s Isabella Ward and Cora I. Neil guilds.

She was a member of the P.E.O., and she was honored in 1999 by the Women of Rotary for her 60-year membership.

Her husband of 44 years, John, died in 1973.

Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Retier of Seattle; a sister, Margaret of Ephrata, Wash.; a brother, Harold Saunders of Pullman; and two grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Inland Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross.

William Wagoner Richland

Service for William E. “Bill” Wagoner, 44, was Sunday at Central United Protestant Church in Richland. Graveside service followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland.

Mr. Wagoner, who was born in Cheney died Wednesday from cancer. He was raised in Cheney and graduated in 1974 from Cheney High School.

In 1980 he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Washington University and moved to Richland.

Mr. Wagoner had been working as a warehouse supervisor for Energy Northwest.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two children, Bryson and Lyndsay Wagoner, both at home; his mother, Yvonne Wagoner of Cheney; a brother, Richard Wagoner of Ballard, Wash.; and two sisters, Leslie Wagoner of Tukwila, Wash., and Linda Wagoner of McCall, Idaho.

Steven Inman Spokane

No service will be held for Steven L. Inman, 44, at his request. Inurnment will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Inman died Wednesday.

He graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1974.

Mr. Inman worked as a foreman for E-Z Loader Trailers.

Survivors include a son, Chris Inman of Spokane; his parents, Don and Ida Inman of Spokane; and a sister, Patricia Killian of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

William Gossett Spokane

No service will be held for William Marion Gossett, 77. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Casper, Wyo., Mr. Gossett died Sept. 11.

He worked as an engineer in the aerospace industry in California.

Mr. Gossett moved to Spokane 10 years ago from California.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joyce.
