Alabama-Birmingham 13, LSU 10: Rhett Gallego kicked a 32-yard field goal on the final play of the game as the Blazers (2-1) upset the Tigers (2-2) at Baton Rouge, La.

Gallego’s second field goal of the game gave the Blazers their first win in four tries against a Southeastern Conference team.

LSU had tied the score 10-all on John Corbello’s 35-yard field goal with 2:33 left.

Arkansas 28, Alabama 21: Robby Hampton’s 9-yard touchdown pass to Marcellus Poydras with 64 seconds to play gave the Razorbacks (3-0, 1-0 SEC) a victory over the Crimson Tide (1-3, 1-1) at Fayetteville, Ark.

North Carolina 20, Marshall 15: At Chapel Hill, N.C., Ronald Curry threw for 292 yards, including a pair of fourth-quarter TD passes in a span of 2:22, as the Tar Heels (3-1) beat the Thundering Herd (1-2).

Maryland 45, Middle Tennessee 27: Calvin McCall passed for a career-high 357 yards and two touchdowns and LaMont Jordan ran for three scores as the Terrapins (2-1) defeated the Blue Raiders (1-3) at College Park, Md.

East Carolina 34, Syracuse 17: David Garrard threw three long touchdown passes and East Carolina’s defense made three fourth-down stops in the second half as the Pirates (3-1) defeated the Orangemen (1-2) at Greenville, N.C.

Vanderbilt 26, Duke 7: Greg Zolman threw two touchdown passes and John Markham kicked four field goals as the Commodores (1-3) defeated the Blue Devils (0-4) at Nashville, Tenn.

East

Pittsburgh 29, Rutgers 17: Torrie Cox returned a kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown as the Panthers (4-0, 1-0 Big East), reached 4-0 for the first time since 1991 by beating the visiting Scarlet Knights (2-2, 0-2).

Boston College 48, Navy 7: Tim Hasselbeck passed for a career-high 355 yards, including two touchdowns to Dedrick Dewalt, as the Eagles (2-1) defeated the Midshipmen (0-3) at Boston.

Memphis 26, Army 16: Memphis’ Idrees Bashir ran back an interception 100 yards - matching the longest in the 76-year history of Michie Stadium - as the Tigers (3-1, 1-0 C-USA) defeated the Cadets (0-3, 0-4) at West Point, N.Y.

Temple 49, Eastern Michigan 40: Tanardo Sharps rushed for a career-high 203 yards and two long touchdowns and Devin Scott threw three scoring passes to lead the Owls (3-1) over the Eagles (1-3) at Philadelphia.

Baylor 28, S.Florida 13: Guy Tomcheck, making his first start at quarterback, completed 20 of 28 passes for 223 yards and three TDs to lead the Bears (2-1) over the Division I-AA Bulls (2-2) at Waco, Texas.

Tulsa 22, Louisiana Tech 10: Ken Bohanon ran for a career-high 178 yards and a TD and Chris Earnest kicked three field goals as the Golden Hurricane (2-2) beat the Bulldogs (1-4) at Tulsa, Okla.

Tulane 29, SMU 17: At Dallas, Patrick Ramsey passed for 347 yards and three touchdowns as the Green Wave (1-2) defeated the Mustangs (1-3) to snap a seven-game losing streak.

UTEP 39, Hawaii 7: Rocky Perez threw for a career-high four touchdowns, completing 18 of 31 passes for 265 yards to lead the Miners (2-2, 2-0 WAC) over the Warriors (0-2, 0-1) at El paso, Texas.

Indiana 42, Cincinnati 6: Antwaan Randle El and Levron Williams rushed for two touchdowns each as the Hoosiers (1-2) beat the Bearcats (2-2) at Bloomington, Ind.

Kansas 42, Southern Illinois 0: Dylen Smith threw two of his three touchdown passes in the final 4 minutes of the first half and the Jayhawks (2-1) went on to blank the Division I-AA Salukis (1-2) at Lawrence, Kan.

West

Nevada 35, Wyoming 28: Marquis Starks scored on a 16-yard run with 41 seconds left as the Wolf Pack (1-2) rallied to defeat the Cowboys (1-3) at Laramie, Wyo..

The game was delayed an hour because the Nevada team bus, on its way from a Cheyenne hotel 50 miles away, got stuck behind a 12-car pileup on snow-slicked Interstate 80.

Air Force 23, Utah 14: Mike Thiessen threw for two touchdowns as the Falcons (3-0, 2-0 Mountain West) defeated the Utes (0-4, 0-1) at Salt Lake City.

BYU 10, UNLV 7: At Provo, Utah, Luke Staley ran for 167 yards and the Cougars (2-3, 1-1 MWC) held off the Rebels (1-2, 0-1).
