Aryans Report Gun Stolen

From Staff Reports

Aryan Nations founder Richard Butler reported a gun stolen from his home on the organization’s compound north of Hayden Lake.

Butler reported the theft to Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies Tuesday morning, sheriff’s officials said.

It was unclear Tuesday what type of weapon was stolen and when it was taken.

On Sunday, Butler reported a rock being thrown through a stained-glass window in his chapel.

Butler lost a civil lawsuit Sept. 7 when a jury found him guilty of “gross negligence” when he appointed security guards who carried out an assault on two passers-by, Victoria and Jason Keenan.

A jury awarded $6.3 million in damages against Butler, the Aryan Nations and three former members of the white separatist group.

He has been ordered to give up his Hayden Lake property, which could happen in mid-October.
